Our Professional Development Programmes (PDP) are specifically designed for apprentices who aim to acquire an international module for their apprenticeship portfolio.

Professional Development Programme (PDP)

The Professional Development Programmes offer students the opportunity to gain valuable international, cultural and linguistic experience in line with their (commercial) vocational training. During the three-week intensive courses, they can improve their business management and practical professional knowledge as well as their language skills. The PDPs are also the starting point for a Bachelor's degree programme after the apprenticeship. Participating in a PDP course is possible in London and other English-speaking cities, as well as comfortably from your own home via our remote programme. The certification awarded upon successful completion is issued by the German-British Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK GB).

PDP at ECBM

The ECBM has been offering customised courses for German vocational schools for 25 years. As one of the most successful training academies of the Chambers of Commerce abroad, we have successfully trained over 10,000 students. The qualification is a German-British chamber certificate. As teaching takes place in English-speaking countries abroad, the proven German-British certificate can play an important role in a young professional's future career. The European College of Business and Management is the only institution to offer this combination of awards. The Professional Development Programmes at the ECBM pave the way for trainees to pursue a Bachelor's degree and ultimately a Master's degree at the ECBM.

 

Contents and Course Outline

The Professional Development Programmes take place every year whenever it most suitable for our partner schools. Participation is possible in London and other English-speaking cities, as well as comfortably from of your own home via our remote programme. After just three weeks, trainees receive a German-British Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) certified award. The curriculum of the three-week PDP course has been specially adapted to the German vocational training programme and the lessons are taught entirely in English.

During the course, participants develop their English language skills and expand their international and cultural competences. To further promote language development, we will help you organise accommodation with local host families. In addition to guest lectures by speakers from local companies, we offer additional modules in the areas of communication, globalisation and culture. With individual specialisms such as banking, fashion, insurance and property management, the course is tailored precisely to the trainees.

Degree and Certificates

Two certificates can be obtained as part of the three-week intensive course. The certificate of the German-British Chamber of Industry & Commerce and the ECBM certificate. Many graduates take part in the ECBM Bachelor's programme after completing their qualification, paving the way for a Master's degree.
